All polls show that America is a dictatorship, not a democracy. Here is why:

The scientific definition of a “democracy” is that the policy-priorities of the public are also the policy-priorities of the Government. To the extent that those two differ from one-another, the Government is a dictatorship.

Consequently, the only extent to which the formal aspects of a Government — such as its Constitution — have any bearing, at all, upon whether or not a given nation is authentically a democracy, would be if, and only if, that Constitution has produced this result. If it fails to produce this result, then it fails to have produced a democracy.

Consequently also: the mere presence or absence of voting by the public in order to determine whom the nation’s Government-officials are, has nothing to do with whether or not the given nation is a democracy, unless, and to the extent to which, such voting actually DOES produce a Government in which the policy-priorities of the public are also the policy-priorities of the Government.

Consequently, furthermore, this definition of “democracy” negates the political-‘science’ conceptions and preconceptions (or assumptions) about what a democracy is — what the term “democracy” MEANS (in the real world). That field of ‘study’ is no field of science; it is instead only a field in the humanities (scholarship, where falsehoods can and do reign; truthfulness does not). If a field of ‘study’ is designed so as to falsify in ways that ‘justify’ the existing system or “Establishment,” it is a field not of social science, but instead of propaganda FOR that Establishment. This is what now exists as social ‘science’. (It is a field of propaganda.)

What follows here will be the evidences that America is a dictatorship:

On 14 February 2025, the AP headlined “Where US adults think the government is spending too much, according to AP-NORC polling”, and listed in rank-order according to the opposite (“spending too little”) the following 8 Government functions: 1. Social Security; 2. Medicare; 3. Education; 4. Assistance to the poor; 5. Medicaid; 6. Border security; 7. Federal law enforcement; 8. The Military. That’s right: the American public (and by an overwhelming margin) are THE LEAST SUPPORTIVE of spending more money on the military, and the MOST SUPPORTIVE of spending more money on Social Security, Medicare, Education, Assistance to the poor, and Medicaid (those latter five being the functions the Republican Party has always been the most vocal to call “waste, fraud, and abuse” and try to cut — but those 5 were the most-favored by the American public). Meanwhile, The Military, which actually receives 53% (and in the latest year far more than that) of the money that the Congress allocates each year and gets signed into law by the President, keeps getting, each year, over 50% of the annually appropriated federal funds. Furthermore, the U.S. Defense Department is the only Department of the federal Government so corrupt, so intensely corrupt, that it has never been audited.

Trump is increasing the military and border security, and decreasing education, assistance to the poor, Medicaid, federal law enforcement, and even Social Security and Medicare (the latter two by laying off many of the people who staff those bureaucracies). This Government’s policy-priorities are like the public’s turned upside-down — in other words: are the REVERSE of the public’s — and therefore the U.S. Government right now is a perfect example of a dictatorship. One might say that this is so in only the Executive branch, but it’s not necessarily true: As always when one political faction (regardless whether it it is one Party or a coalition of Parties) has control over both the Executive and the Legislative branches of the Government — as now is the case in the U.S. — these two branches (Executive and Legislative) function as one, and there then will even be a totalitarian dictatorship if they can get the Judicial branch or Supreme Court to call it “Constitutional.” Currently, the U.S. is slipping from a dictatorship towards a totalitarian dictatorship; but America has been a dictatorship ever since at least 1980. And that is a dictatorship by the super-rich. It is actually a bipartisan dictatorship, in which the two political Parties alternate in power but BOTH of them being controlled by only their respective megadonors. The first-ever billionaire U.S. President, who is Trump, is merely the worst-yet example of it. All of this started with the stupidest-ever U.S. President, Harry Truman.

On 29 April 2025, Axios headlined “Exclusive: Most Americans see Trump as ‘dangerous dictator,’ poll says”, and reported the results of a PRRI “Survey of 5,025 U.S. adults conducted Feb. 28 to March 20, 2025” (and the survey itself can be seen here) which asked whether “President Trump is a dangerous dictator whose power should be limited before he destroys American democracy?” and found that the breakdowns were:

Overall, 52% of Americans agree [answered “Yes”]. By party, 87% of Democrats and 17% of Republicans agree. Along racial and ethnic lines, 67% of Black people agree, compared to 45% of white people.

Furthermore, “The margin of sampling error is +/- 1.69 percentage points at the 95% confidence level, for results based on the entire sample.” That is extraordinarily good mathematical parameters, far better than for the average national opinion poll in the U.S.

Furthermore, the poll’s “APPENDIX A: Survey Methodology” exhibits that this poll met state-of-the-art standards in its sampling techniques, so that the poll’s findings are, from a scientific standpoint, extremely trustworthy as displaying U.S. public opinion.

In short, then, the NORC findings back in February showing that the reality is America’s being a dictatorship, not a democracy, is displayed, as to its results, by the PPRI findings in April that the American public — by overwhelming margins except for by Republicans (who answered a mere 17% in the affirmative) — RECOGNIZE that they (we — I am an American) live under a dictatorship.

ONLY Republicans (the Party of this President) do NOT recognize that they live under “a dangerous dictator whose power should be limited before he destroys American democracy.” The WAY that this ‘democratic’ nation exists is under the control by two billionaire-funded political Parties, so that they (the two Parties) play (compete) against each other and polarize the public so that the public are being constantly deceived by the billionaires’ media and hired ‘experts’ to think that the ‘opposite’ Party is their enemy — NOT the billionaires, who actually control both Parties (and who thereby thrive by vampirizing the entire economy). This is what an elections-based ‘democracy’ degenerates into: it’s dictatorship by and for the super super-rich. It depends upon a constantly deceived public. Even when (as in the current U.S.) the public predominantly recognize that they live under a dictatorship, they MISINTERPRET WHY they do. “Democracy” does NOT mean public elections between competing political Parties; it REALLY DOES mean a Government whose policy-priorities are the same as the public’s policy-priorities. I have proposed how such a democracy (an AUTHENTIC one) can be achieved — and it provides zero public elections for public officials: they would instead be chosen entirely by lottery. Billionaires would thus have no way to pre-select their Party’s nominees as at present, because there would be no public elections, and no Parties, and no political campaigns (contests in deceiving the public) at all. Becoming, and being, a Government official, will then no longer be serving the megadonors; it would instead be only serving the public. And any legislator who is opposed by at least two-thirds of all other legislators will be removed from office, so that any who tries to get in the way of serving the public will be removed from office by his-her colleagues, and replaced by means, yet again, of a lottery. Instead of “bipartisanship,” there will then be legislators who are working together seeking for the truth — without any partisan considerations whatsoever (because there then won’t be any Parties — and no competition against “the other side of the aisle”).

The great investigative historian Germa Bel documented that the very first privatizations of Governmental assets were by Hitler and Mussolini. What the Instagram shows is that the right to water (the most crucial mineral) is now being increasingly privatized. This is what electoral-based ‘democracy’ is increasingly producing, on a global basis: privatization. Everything that was formerly considered a basic human right (controlled by the Government) is now no longer any right at all, but instead available ONLY to people who can afford to buy it from the billionaires — the few people who OWN it. Whenever I run into people who still insist upon continuing their country’s election-based ‘democracy’, I point out such things as what that Instagram shows, and I ask them: Do you really ACCEPT what the present system is heading us into? Because THIS is the choice — democracy versus fascism — it will be the choice that will be made, and anyone who refuses to choose, will be passively accepting the current, intensely corrupt, system — and THAT system will then BE their choice. It is the default choice. It is the choice that is automatically made by anyone who WON’T choose. But is this the kind of world that you really want your children to be living in?

And do you like all these wars? They’re enormously profitable for the armaments-industries, but funding them is causing cutbacks in Government-funding of health, welfare, and public education.

Not to choose is to choose even more war, and even more poverty, and even more misery, and even more ignorance, for the coming generations.
