You're right to remind us of how these billionaires' make their money. While true that historically "the promises made to the megadonors get fulfilled by the Government," there are several differences with Trump. He's tough and tempered, and even Max Blumenthal calls him "unpredictable." No other American President has missed three assassinations before being even sworn in. Trump knows his days are numbered, and you can tell this just by how quickly he signed consequential Orders that screwed with the profits of the pharmaceutical, and arms industries - neither shy about murdering eoither customers or whiste blowers. He can offset some of those losses with such things as border security contracts - far better to my mind than blowing up limbs of Palestinian children or Ukrainian children. He has already fulfilled mandates of his unpowerful electorate, freeing the protestors, returning TikTok, and guaranteeing medical freedom. At 78, after winning all swing states, uniting diverse demographics, Trump has nothing more to prove, and no political future to protect. He can use and discard any billionaire he cannot placate. A young Portuguese friend told me she sees Trump as a guy already successful, who did not need to be President but woke up one day sincerely pissed off at how messed up everything has gotten and decided to fix it. Watching Trump's inaugural speech, that is what I see. His breadth of scope, specific plans and Orders drawn up, and his humility, sincerity and courage moved me. Just let the grandfather live and hope be reborn. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/01/20/trump-inauguration-full-speech-watch/77837318007/
