The American govt spends 65% of world expenditure on Defence?

So what is it spending on?

Costs of maintaining those bases overseas?

Costs of the standing army?

You could call them necessary costs I suppose, if you have that mindset.

They would see it as necessary I suppose.

Is that what all that massive expenditure is?

Nothing else?

So is the MIC supported entirely from that?

All those big arms manufacturers, they are supported just about wholly by the American Govt buying their output?

Or not? They make money from sales overseas? Arms exporting?

Then what's the breakdown? And what does it signify? Are those companies self supporting, profitable, via international sales or do they need the Govt contracts?

I'd guess they need them. Well what's the measure, the percentage of that need?

Love to know that.

Say one of them is 80% supported by the govt.

And we've learned there's massive corruption manifested as overpricing.

So that perhaps for $1 spent the govt gets 25c worth of value. (I think that's generous).

That would mean of that 80% 60% is sheer 'gift', money given to that company for nothing.

Graft. Corruption.

Quantified. If we knew the figures.

They should be findable shouldn't they? Or are they secret, the balance sheets of such companies?

Well there you go as war is still on the table indefinitely and DOGE has failed to grab the pantygon by the tail and shake loose those trillions of dollars that end up in someones coffers and pockets.

I can probably find that $595 crescent wrench that my tax dollars paid for selling on Ebay for $20.
