A masterful piece, every word of it. A criminal empire ruled by cynics and abetted by armies of professional disinformers directing their mind manipulation at the captive native population. It should be requisite reading by every American, but of course it won't be, for reasons irrefutably stated in this essay.

The next very interesting fact is that no one wants a democracy.

Many indicators.

Here's one. Here is a way by which given today's sophisticated technology we actually can have a better than athenian democracy. Look at it and explain it, show it, to others. You will find no one wants it.

It seems that amongst the herd none of us trusts anyone else sufficiently to want them to have a voice, in fact. That's on the one hand.

On the other hand the herd also seems to have a strong instinctive desire to be led by some autocratic saviour.

Hence the very idea of democracy is stifled at birth.

Try it, you'll see:

DON'T WRITE TO CONGRESS

This is still not the way because it still belongs to govt. not the people and is still used only every few years -

but shows it could be done right NOW

‘… the biggest lie is, then, that the regime itself is NOT a regime, but is, instead, a democracy.’

I reply: ‘The regime [by any name] itself IS a lie.’

The biggest lie is believing that any government cares about its citizens. When has the voter and taxpayer been the master and government the slave? Not in a million years. Not in any democracy simply because 51% can still tell the other 49% what to do and how to live. Letting the majority rule does not work for government since it is so easy to manipulate the playing field to get that 51% majority.

You are spouting pessimistic, nihilistic idiocy, your mind embittered by the only experiences you have encountered or had access to, chiefly the US and its colonies, all of which run on various form of utterly corrupt capitalism. While perfection is probably impossible in any given society, satisfactory representation of the vast majority's interests IS possible and worth fighting for.
