It is wrong to call this war Russian-Ukrainian. Ukraine has not been an independent state for a long time. Ukraine is a colony of the USA. Russia is at war in Ukraine with the United States and its vassals. This is the Russian-American war. Both sides of the conflict cannot afford to lose in this war. Because the loser is waiting for the collapse of statehood and the disintegration of the country, so a nuclear war is inevitable... Although there is still hope.

Ukraine was a democratic and independent nation during 1991-2014 until Obama's coup in February 2014 grabbed it for the U.S. regime to control so as ultimately to invade Russia from there, by means of a nuclear-tipped missile that would be posted around 300 miles (five minutes) from The Kremlin.
