Despite what Trump or anyone else says, the people have NEVER had power over the government. It has been a 248 years long illusion and brain fart perpetrated by government itself. Sure you can vote, but when has that mattered? Did you gain any new powers as a citizen of this country? No...they have been dissolving over the last 200 years as more control and slavery has been implemented.
That is a bogus 'quotation'. No one who repeats it tells in what speech or writing by him it occurred; and, so, only propagandists say he said it, no actual historian does. Anyone who repeats it is therefore a fool of propagandists and fools, not an actually intelligent person. Sorry to inform you of that, but it's simply a fact of history. No historian attributes a particular quotation to ANYONE unless it is accompanied by the date, place, speech or document by that person, because only fools do that, and no historian wants to be anybody's fool. They know the difference between propaganda and history, but fools don't.

The dictatorship here started on 25 July 1945. That decision to reverse FDR changed everything.
