The U.S. Government commissioned polls of Syrians, and they showed CONSISTENTLY that Assad had higher support to lead the country than ANYONE else there did, and that the Syrians overwhelmingly named the U.S. as having brought the al-Qaeda curse to Syria. They blamed the U.S. the MOST for al-Qaeda being there. So, all that you know of the matter is the U.S.-and-allied propaganda, NOT what the U.S. Government itself KNEW about the matter. I am constantly amazed at the extent to which many people talk on the basis of the U.S. Government's deceits instead of on the basis of any reliable DATA at all. They are mental slaves. If they choose to be that, it is their right, but then they should just keep quiet about such matters, because they will only spread other people's lies otherwise.
